Und nochmal: Little Holiday Bag

Since you can win an ebook of your choice from "Frau Liebstes" on my blog candy, i had to sew my favorit pattern of Claudia again: Little Holiday Bag, which is not "little" at all!
It is again meant as a present and made out of aubergine coloured canvas-like fabric mixed with the most gorgeous rose fabric i have ever seen: i luuuv it!
The same canvas i used for THESE Nonita trousers, treated with bleach before sewing: it does look different, indeed :-)

Ich wünsch euch einen schönen Tag,
Have a great day,

Nell

Orangen-Laterne: HOWtoMAKE

It really works! Recently i saw a tutorial on "how to make an orange-candle" on a website  and tonight Rosa and I tried if it really works: we love it! Finally i found something to do with all the oranges dropping from our trees every year :-)

Ganz leicht selbst gemacht!

It is easy enough to make one of them! You'll need an orange or clementine, a sharp knife and some oliveoil. First you need to cut trough the peel around the middle, making sure you don't cut into the flesh. Then try to loosen each half from the peel with your fingers, very gently to make sure you don't rip it. One half should turn out to have a little white stick in the middle, this one will be the candle half, the stick will be our wick. The other half you can decorate as ou please, but it has to have a t least a hole in the center, for it won't burn. Once your done, fill the "candleside" with oliveoil, drizzle some on the wick as well but make sure, that a fair bit of the wick stands out. For lighting the candle it's best to use a long match. Once it's lit place the other half on top and enjoy: it smells amazing :-)

Ich wünsch euch einen angenehmen Samstag Abend!
Have a great saturday night!

Recently i ordered some vinyl fabric for making bags and pouches. Rosa fell in love with one of them (because of the "yellow submarines" hidden amongst all the figures) and insisted on having a raincoat made of it. Deadline was this morning, since the weather report forcasted rain: and it is raining :-)

The pattern i used is Querida /Farbenmix, size 134/140 and a bit shortened. The last bits of the fabric i used for making a belt, i like the way it changes the fit of the pattern completely. The coat is lined with nicky-material, for it can be worn on cooler days as well.

The pics i took at 8.30 this morning and there still wasn't proper daylight! That's why they didn't turn out as nice....

Even if i am not allowed to sew too colourful anymore, luckily Rosa still enjoys playing in a very imaginative way. She loves building landscapes in the garden for her fairies and animals, using pieces of cork, wood or stones.
For quite a while i was planning on sewing a "take along fairyland". I saw pics of playmats in other blogs, only they were either two dimensional or not foldable. But i wanted both for Rosas mat :-) So i came up with this idea today and it worked out just fine:

Rosa asked for an outfit with a skirt but for big girls. I chose pink and black fabric, her favorit colour combination recently.
The embroidery design on the skirt is the big rose out of the "Rosalena" set.

Danke :-)

I planned on doing a blog candy for reaching 555 followers- i just need a little while to think about a nice giveaway... Thanks for popping in frequently!

Ich wünsch euch einen angenehmen Freitagabend!

Have a cosy friday night!

Recycle Sunday.

My absolut all time favorite hoodie became Rosas new "Bandito". While she was trying it on, i heard someone say: "Look at our big girl, now she fits into your jackets." Well, absolutly :-)

The sweatpants are recycled as well, made from a kneelong pair i never wore.

Hoddie and pants are actually not meant as a set, but Rosa refused to wear different trousers due to comfiness..

Sonnige Grüße,
Nelli

Crayon-Recycling

Rosa had to de-clutter her desk last week and was asked to pick out all of her broken crayons, since we planned on trying this crafty idea.

Und so haben wirs gemacht:

And that's how we did it:

You'll need: broken crayons and silicon-molds (that resist at least 240 degrees)

Break the crayons in to even smaller bits and chuck them into the molds.

Ca. 15-20 Minuten bei 220 Grad im Ofen schmelzen. Auskühlen lassen und aus der Form drücken.
Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes at 220 degrees. Leave the new cryons to cool and gently press out of the molds.

Hat Spass gemacht!
That was fun!

Euch ein schönes Wochenende...
Have a great weekend...

Bandito in groß.

Eventually i've sewn something for myself: a "Bandito" hoodie, made of double layered "micro-teddy" fabric. Embroidery files via Urban Thread.
I already love it, pretty sure this one will be my fav hoodie for the upcoming coolish season...

Mal sehen :-)

Was sagt ihr zumneuen Blogdesign? Passt doch irgendwie besser zu "Bienvenido Colorido"... alles so schön bunt hier, nich?

Pics of me, very rare...i admit, i don't like myself to much on pics.

You may have noticed the new blog design, a bit more colourful- fits better with the blog title, doesn't it?

Sonnige Grüße,
Nell
